Printing Guide

All Hello Days inserts are available in printable PDF format, which means you get to print them out from the comfort of your home! Here’s how they work.

How to Download

Whether you purchased the Stardew Valley Planner via my shop at hellodays.com or on Etsy, once your order is confirmed, a download link will be instantly generated and available for download on your Order Confirmation screen. In case you missed it, you should also receive the download link in your email to refer back to (check your spam folder just in case it’s not in your inbox).

Once you’ve downloaded your file onto your computer, save it in a safe place so you never lose it!

For Best Printing Results:

  • Always print PDF from your computer (ex. I love Adobe Reader!) and avoid printing directly from browser

  • Manually flip pages for double-sided printing (unless your printer supports duplex printing)

  • Set page sizing to “Actual Size” or scale to 100%

Materials:

  1. Color printer (preferably inkjet)

  2. Ink!

  3. Color copy paper (I love Hammermill)

  4. Paper trimmer (for non-US Letter / A4 sizes)

  5. Hole puncher (the one I use)

Printing Your PDF

All Stardew Valley inserts are designed to be printed on both sides of a sheet of paper and have cutlines displayed on each page of the PDF, with the exception of US Letter size. You can either print each page on standard US Letter (8.5 x 11in)/A4 (8.3 × 11.7in) paper size, or your desired “true” paper size. With the latter option for example, if you are printing A6 inserts on an A6 sized paper, the cutlines will automatically fall outside the printing area and therefore can be ignored.

Please see below for step-by-step instructions of how to print your inserts.

Optional:

  1. Thick card stock or watercolor paper

  2. Thick vellum (at least 30gsm)

Standard US Letter Size / A4 Printing:

  1. Open PDF from your computer and select Print

  2. Select the page(s) to print

  3. Under paper sizing, select “Actual Size” or scale to 100%

  4. (optional) If you printer supports duplex (double-sized) printing, ensure you’ve checkmarked “Print on both sides of the paper” and select “Flip on long edge”

  5. Set orientation as “Auto” (to ensure sheet is centered on top of each other on both sides)

  6. Check that the correct printer is selected

  7. Confirm “Print”

True Size Printing (for non-US Letter / A4 sizes):

1. Set up your paper size:

  1. Open PDF from your computer and select Print

  2. Click on “Page Setup…”

  3. Under Paper Size, select “Manage Custom Size…”

  4. Click on the plus sign (+) to add a new size

  5. Enter the values of the paper size you desire to add, ensure all margin is set to 0

  6. Click on “OK” once done

Optional step. Trim your paper:

If you don’t have the right size paper, why not try trimming them yourself! I usually like to trim from either US Letter or US Legal size paper.

Using a paper trimmer (see my recommendation above), measure and trim your paper to the size you want. Repeat for the number of pages you need.

2. Set up your printer:

  1. Adjust your paper tray to fit the paper size you’re printing

  2. Load paper!

3. Preparing to print:

  1. Under Page Setup > Paper Size, select the paper size you’ve previously set up

  2. Ensure Scale is set to 100%

  3. Click on “OK”

  4. Select the page(s) to print

  5. Under paper sizing, select “Actual Size” or scale to 100%

  6. Set orientation as “Auto” (to ensure sheet is centered on top of each other on both sides)

  7. Check that the correct printer is selected

  8. Confirm the document preview is displaying the final paper size and that the cutlines are outside of the printing area

  9. Confirm “Print”

Troubleshooting

Q: My printer is only printing partial pages.

A: Due to the number of pages in the PDF, sometimes processing this many pages to print may cause a slowdown with your printer, resulting in printing partial or incomplete pages. I would recommend only printing 10 pages at a time and see if that resolves the issue with your printer.
